Pirates of the Spanish Main

TV spot included in national product launch  (April 18, 2005)

Earlybird produced a TV commercial for "Pirates of the Spanish Main", a constructible strategy game, as part of a market study.   The ad was tested in one city and compared against other types of advertising such as print and point-of-purchase.  Because product sales were showing noticeable increases where the TV commercial was being aired, WizKids Games decided to expand its exposure by purchasing air time on the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, ABC Family, Fox Kids and WB Kids.

The commercial was directed by Roland Yamamoto of Earlybird, voiced (as Blackheart the pirate) by John Patrick Lowrie from The Actors Group, and conceived by Jordan Weisman, president and creative lead of WizKids Games.

With approximately 100 employees, WizKids Games is based in Bellevue, WA.  Known for its game designs, collectible miniatures and constructible startegy games, WizKids has a roster of game hits, including "Mech Warrior", "Crimson Skies", and "Creepy Freaks".
