Tech notes:  a super "camera"
The primary mirrors in the Keck telescopes are 10 meters across, the largest in the world.

It can observe light from 13 billion light years away - right after the "Big Bang" when the universe was still young.  Its image data is recorded digitally, much like our video cameras.

How's that for a High Definition Video camera?
